What our customers say

Frequently Asked Questions

Are parallettes the same as dip bars or push-up bars?

While our medium parallettes are suitable for push-ups, dips, and l-sits, they’re not the same as dip bars or push-up bars. Dip bars are much higher, typically around the height of a person’s elbow, and specialised push-up bars are lower – often only 10 to 15 centimetres off the ground.

Should I choose low parallettes, medium parallettes, or high parallettes for my functional training?

Low parallettes are ultra portable, so they’re a great choice if you’re looking to bring fitness equipment with you for outdoor sessions. You’ll have a lower range of motion, but an easier time carrying them around. Medium parallettes provide maximum versatility – they’re still portable, but they also give you a better range of motion for mastering more advanced exercises. High parallettes are, of course, the least portable, but give you the most range of motion: they’re a popular choice for calisthenics training.

Should I choose wooden or metal handles for my parallettes?

It’s ultimately a matter of personal and aesthetic preference, but wooden parallettes are often considered to be slightly gentler on the wrists, offering a more natural grip, while metal parallettes are often chosen for their excellent stability. If you’re attempting advanced calisthenics skills or handstand training, it might be a good choice to pick a metal bar. Wooden parallettes are a great choice for push-ups, planche progressions, and L-sits. That being said, you’ll find both wooden and metal parallettes suitable for all of those activities.

What surface should I mount my parallettes on?

While you’ll be able to use your parallettes on most surfaces, you’re looking for a flat, even, firm surface – especially if you’re attempting something like handstand training! Always exercise caution when using your parallettes, and make sure you’ve got zero wobble on your bars before you get started.
